Payout models in Kosalo
How members get paid in Kosalo — Rotation for Merry-Go-Round groups, and dividend models for Table Banking and Hybrid groups.
Overview
Which payout model applies to your group depends on the group type you chose during Group Creation & Setup.
Merry-Go-Round groups always use Rotation — it's the only model available for this group type, and there's nothing to choose.
Table Banking and Hybrid groups choose a dividend model during setup, and can change it later in Group Settings. Kosalo currently supports one dividend model, Standard Chama, with more in development.
Rotation Available
The default and only payout model for Merry-Go-Round groups — including the rotation portion of a Hybrid group.
Each round, members contribute, and one member receives the full payout for that round. Members take turns until everyone has received a payout, then the rotation starts again.
There's no dividend calculation involved — a member's payout is simply what the group contributed that round.
Standard Chama Available
The default dividend model for Table Banking and Hybrid groups.
Dividend is based on each member's savings relative to the group's total savings, calculated at the end of each cycle.
A member's payout includes their individual savings plus their dividend earned.
More dividend models — coming soon
These are in development and not yet available for new or existing Table Banking or Hybrid groups.
Total profit is split equally among all members, regardless of savings. Payout includes member savings plus the equal dividend received.
A configurable mix of proportional and equal share distribution.
Members receive back exactly what they contributed; dividends are not distributed. Payout includes member savings only.
